About the event
To explore and develop understanding of the varied repertoire of English art song of the 20th and 21st century. Particular focus will be paid to the use of the English language as a lyrical expressive tool in the service of dramatic and engaging storytelling.
At the end of the course
You will be able to explore in depth English song repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries, to develop engagement with the poetic text and enhance storytelling skills, to make expressive and lyrical use of the English language and will have increased confidence as performer in concert and audition setting.
Master class format
In the session, you are invited to present a song from the English language repertory to perform to your peers and receive guidance and feedback from the tutor. There is a class accompanist, but you may also bring your own.
